Far East Summit was founded by four friends who wanted to create a company integrating the knowledge of the Chinese Herbal Tradition with modern bio-medical technical research. With a combined 50 years of experience in Chinese Medicine and natural health care, the owners of Far East Summit are proud to be developing safe, effective and highly sophisticated herbal formulas.

What Is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (often referred to as "TCM") developed over thousands of years to create a personal and individual approach to health care. It is one of the oldest and most proven healing systems in the world. TCM requires tremendous reliance on the individual to understand and maintain their own health through diet, mental and physical exercise, and meditation. Once the person is able to recognize their own selves, then they can truly work with their doctor when the need arises.

Our Lifestyle Solutions™ products benefit from years of clinical experience, and have been developed using the most recent academic research from mainland China. Featuring pure concentratetd extracts (no artificial or questionable additives), they have been formulated by Dr. Lin Cheng Tan, a co-founder of Far East Summit, and our vice-president for research & development. Dr. Lin (who also has a successful medical practice in Santa Monica, California) is an M.D. (China) and licensed acupuncturist with years of clinical experience.

What Are Pure Concentrated Extracts?

The vast majority of herbal supplements on the market today are processed using some kind of binding agent or other herbal base. When the finished product is in the bottle, it could be as little as 10% herb. Our Lifestyle Solutions™ products are manufactured using the most advanced techniques available. Most of our formulas contain 100% pure extract, meaning you get the most potent formula available.

Where Are Your Products Made?

Far East Summit products are processed in one of two ways:

Some of our products are manufactured in a certified facility in Mainland China, under strict quality controls (and under the supervision of Far East Summit). The bulk product is shipped directly to the Far East Summit facility where, after close inspection, is packaged for sale.

For other products, raw bulk material is purchased from approved herbal contractors. The material is shipped to the Far East Summit facility where it is carefully inspected by our in-house staff. Before processing, appropriate testing certificates are reviewed for all raw materials. Under strict quality control, the raw material is processed locally and shipped back to Far East Summit for packaging.

How Are Dosages Determined?

Adequate dosage is always an issue when taking herbal supplements. Each body reacts differently. Some bodies don't react at all to herbal supplement and others can be extremely stimulated. The recommended dosage indicated on our products is 1-3 capsules twice a day. However, we urge each person to search their own bodies and determine what dosage is right. All Far East Summit products are formulated to be safe and effective.

I Know About Individual Chinese Herbs And Know They Work. Why Should I Use A Formula?

Unlike western medicine, which generally treats the specific disease or malady, the very basis of TCM is the balance it brings to the body. The diagnosis of a trained professional involves looking at one's whole system and determining where the imbalance is occuring. Far East Summit formulas work in the same manner; our formulas achieve a "perfect" balance of mixed herbs. Some herbs warm, some cool, some moisten, others dry. How Is Luminous Different From Other Products?

Luminous™ is unique in that its innovative hydrolyzed extract of fresh water oyster pearl has an absorption rate of over 90% (traditionally prepared pearl extract has an absoroption rate of 13%). This guarantees the same high level of quality and effectiveness that is the hallmark of our herbal formulations.

Can Luminous Be Taken Along With other Prescribed Medications?

Luminous™ is safe to use at any time. There should be no adverse effects when takekn with other prescribed medications or supplements. However, as with any medicine or supplemeent, you should seek professional advice during pregnancy.

Pearl? Do You Mean The Kind Around My Neck?

Yes, we use a similar type of fresh water pearls as those used in jewelry. However, our pearls are chosen for their healing quality, not aesthetic value. The pearls used in our formulations are not visually beautiful, and are not of jewelry quality.

Why Pearl?

In TCM, the lungs are the windows to the skin. If you are breathing well and getting plenty of fresh air into your body, your skin will be healthier. The extracts in Luminous™, especially the main ingredient, Pearl, work on warming and hydrating the lungs, giving you the ability to take in more oxygen and transfer moisture to your skin.

With Luminous, How Long Before I See Any Benefits?

Unfortunately, to coin a phrase, results may vary. Herbal supplements require consistent, diligent use. Within 14 days you should begin to see and feel the positive effects. The longer you take the product, the more benefit. According to Dr. Lin, a few patients have noted they didn't see much effect wile taking Luminous™ but, for whatever reason, after briefly discontinuing use, they have been struck by the negative effects. Everyone of these patients immediately started taking Luminous™ again and feel wonderful.

Does Pearl Have Any Side Effects?
